Media planners are professionals able to spot and evaluate the best strategies for the distribution of resources and advertising investments. Their task is to distribute them among the various communication media. Media Planner 2.0 is a recent professional figure who must be able to outline the guidelines of advertising campaigns. This professional is in charge of purchasing advertising platforms on line on behalf of their clients, analysing users’ habits in order to know and exploit their behaviours. The main task is defining a media plan, in which every phase and element of the advertising campaign is detailed.

This professional profile can work in an advertising agency or media planning and buying agency, but also web consultancies. There are many career opportunities that go towards a continuous professional growth. Excellent communication skills and marketing and media editing skills are a vital element in this job, together with non conventional marketing and media editing skills and IT basic knowledge. Moreover, media planners 2.0 must have basic maths and statistics knowledge and need to know deeply the maths and statistical elements offered by the web.
